Santorini can be reached from most international airports via Athens, which is served by the Athens International Airport. Tickets are sometimes cheaper if you book separate Round Trip tickets to/from Athens and then buy a a round trip ticket from Athens to/from Santorini.
If coming from the U.S. Travel dates would be Sept 5 o 12, 2015. You will need to leave the U.S on the 4th to arrive on the 5th.
You have the option to fly directly into Santorini from Athens or take a Ferry from the Athens port of Piraeus.
